The Alvah Kittredge House had been identified by Historic Boston, Inc. and the City of Boston as a historic structure whose location makes it important in the redevelopment of Lower Roxbury. The creation of a viable redevelopment plan grounded in realistic financial assumptions allowed Historic Boston to build consensus and more importantly raise money for the physical redevelopment which began 5 years after HBI was able to gain control of the property.
